Dear You.

Trigger Warning: brief mentions of the following things – stress, anxiety, being abandoned, eating disorders, abuse, sexual abuse, self harm, bullying, and mental illness.

Dear You,

Yes, you. You sitting there in front of your computer screen reading these words right at this moment in time.

I have a message for you. It’s short. It’s simple. It’s sweet. But you need to hear it.

You are not alone.

To you, whomever you are, wherever you are; you are not alone.

To those of you who are stressed beyond imagination about final exams; you are not alone.

To you, my dear, who are paralyzed right now because of grip of anxiety in your life; you are not alone.

To the single mothers out there, who have quit school and are working 3 jobs to make ends meet and put your kids through school; you are not alone.

To the parents who have lost their children, whether it be physically, emotionally, or spiritually; you are not alone.

To you teenagers, both male and female, who are struggling with an eating disorder; you are not alone.

To the young girls, teenage girls, and adult women who are abused, dehumanized, and objectified by men; you are not alone.

To the boys out there who have been sexually abused, rare though you may be; you are not alone.

To you children who have been abandoned by your parents because they loved themselves more than they loved you; you are not alone.

To those who harm themselves because they see themselves as something worth nothing more than the pain that they feel; you are not alone.

To the girls and boys in schools and other situations that leave you vulnerable to being bullied by other kids; you are not alone.

To you young adults who have no idea what the heck you want to do with your lives, even though you know that it’s something spectacular; you are not alone.

To the girl dealing with an unplanned pregnancy; you are not alone.

To the wife and mother who comes home every night to be abused and see her children abused by her husband; you are not alone.

To those of us who are fighting desperately for our lives against our own minds; we are not alone.

To those of us who are fighting on the front lines of this war called life, we are not alone.

To every man, woman, and child – wherever you may be, you are not alone.

Love,

Priceless Tree Dweller

  2. I feel like you just explained, in depth, what this site is here for. If someone ever asks me for clarification about YANALA, I will just give them the link to this. 🙂
